The Public Health Association is Australia’s peak body for public health. We advocate for the health and well-being of all Australians.

The Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) is recognised as the principal non-government organisation for public health in Australia working to promote the health and well-being of all Australians.

We believe public health must be front and centre to ensure Australia is equipped to prevent and control disease outbreaks, protect the health of the community, and promote a resilient population to support economic growth.

We lead the conversation in public health policy across Australia.

Our 1800+ individual members represent over 40 professional groups interested in the promotion of public health. We have branches in every State and Territory.

2022 Federal election campaign

We encourage all Australia’s people to learn about public health issues and discuss them with their families, friends and communities. We encourage voting Australians to give public health issues high importance when deciding who should represent them in Parliaments. However, we do not endorse or recommend votes for specific parties or candidates.

We encourage all political parties and individual candidates to give public health issues high priority, and to make public health commitments a key part of their election manifestos. We will question parties and candidates about their policies and commitments, and forward resulting information to the public. However, we do not give endorsements of any specific parties or candidates.

Vote for a healthier Australia.
